Hello everyone!

I am so glad to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you so you can learn about me.

When you have read my story I hope you will realise that you are missing out on a very important friend in your life - a dog named Poppy!

Thank goodness a kind person came to my rescue, as I was found alone, standing bewildered and fearful on a roundabout on a very busy road. How I was not killed by a car is a miracle!

I can't tell you how I came to be there, but I was somewhat underweight when found, so must have been alone and lost for some time.

When I arrived at Southridge I was understandably very timid and nervous, not knowing how I would be treated, but I soon learned that everyone was kind, caring and had my best interests at heart.

This allowed me to come out of my shell, trust others and show my true super affectionate, gentle nature to all the lovely and kind staff and volunteers who have looked after me. No wonder I am a great favourite here.

I am a largish sized mix breed, sparkly white and around seven years old - spayed of course.

I think you will agree from my photo I am rather glamorous and when on walks everyone at Southridge says what a pretty girl I am, both inside and out.

I am playful, fun-loving, rather nosy and inquisitive and love my toys - which I like to line up in a row in my bed all neat and tidy.

Walkies are a favourite part of my day and I am very well mannered on the lead - I don't pull and I am very smart and know sit and paw too.

Chasing a ball in the big compound is a great joy and I bring it back so I can have it thrown all over again.

While I am grateful to the Southridge team who care for me, I have been here for a long time now and am desperate for a home of my own. Kennel life is stressful and for a dog like me, longing to share my love with a special person or family, it is very tough.

I will need a secure fenced garden (at least five feet high), large enough for me to run and play in as I will not be able to go off lead until I have had some more training.

I am very excited about school which I know will really benefit me, particularly socialising with other dogs, as I can sometimes be a bit anxious and then reactive around some canines.

I am very loyal, but can also be protective of my family, so need an adult only home where I am the only pet, with a person or couple who understand and have experience of larger dogs. Your reward will be my love and affection.

I know my big friendly smile will melt your heart, so what are you waiting for! Contact Southridge right now and come and meet me.
