Plans for an eight-person HMO in Hatfield have been refused, after concerns were raised about it not meeting space requirements.

The proposal, submitted by Andrew Green, would have seen 60 Wood Close change from a six-person House in Multiple Occupation to an eight-person HMO.

Hatfield Town Council were among the objectors to the plan, saying: "We have concerns about whether this property can sustain eight or more adults in a comfortable and sustainable way.

"In particular. we do not assess that there will be sufficient parking, waste and recycle provisions which could sustain eight or more adults on this plot, which would mean the property would not serve its tenants adequately and would have a negative impact on neighbouring properties."

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council took a similar view as they rejected the plans.

"The increase of the property to an eight -bed HMO would not meet the requirements in terms of internal layout space standards.
